Exciting news from Tokyo Disneyland as the beloved BDX Droids from the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” at Disneyland have made their debut across the Pacific! Fans of the Star Tours: The Adventure Continues attraction will be thrilled to encounter these charming droids as they explore Tomorrowland. These adorable droids, named Besh (blue), Grek (green), and Oskar (orange), originally introduced at Disneyland in October 2023, are now captivating guests in Tokyo. Notably, Tokyo Disneyland has incorporated characters from “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian” into the Star Tours lineup, promising an intergalactic adventure like no other.
From April 8 through June 30, park-goers are guaranteed an encounter with one of the new clips on their Star Tours journey. Post the event, these new scenes will be randomly integrated, keeping the experience fresh and exciting. The BDX droids aren’t just for show; they bring remarkable interactive features. These droids can walk, make sounds, shine lights, and even interact with visitors, showcasing personalities and emotions thanks to Disney’s cutting-edge technology.
The origins of these droids are as rich as their interactions. They were designed by Disney’s Zurich robotics team and were inspired by popular BD explorer droids seen in “Star Wars” media, such as BD-1 from “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” and BD-72 from “The Mandalorian.” Their invention has earned Disney the prestigious 2025 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement in Technical Innovation.
Adding to the excitement, Disney announced that these endearing droids will soon be making appearances at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World later this year. Fans can also look forward to seeing them on the big screen in “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
