A touch of New Orleans magic is gracing Disneyland Park as a new mural has been added to the facade of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Enthusiastic guests have been eagerly watching the transformation, and the latest addition does not disappoint!

Nestled behind construction walls, a rustic wooden building with a pointed roof peers out, hinting at the enchantment within. Nearby, a large red barrel rests on an elevated platform, and a tree sways gently under a clear blue sky, all perfect teasers of the bayou adventures that await. While the full mural is still partly hidden, it’s clear that it will have differences from the mural currently up at the Magic Kingdom. Even a small glimpse reveals unique elements that promise to delight fans of “The Princess and the Frog.”

Louisiana local artist Malaika Favorite designed the mural, bringing an authentic New Orleans flavor to Disneyland. Known for her vibrant and evocative works, Favorite was selected by Disney to capture Princess Tiana’s spirit and dream. “Maintaining the authenticity of Tiana’s journey as a young Black woman striving to achieve her dream in New Orleans” was key to the mural’s creation.

Among the delightful scenes depicted, guests will find animals and characters from the beloved film, with Louis the alligator making an appearance in the top left corner. The mural doubles as a narrative bridge, illustrating Tiana’s journey as she develops her Tiana’s Foods co-op, perfectly setting the stage for the thrilling adventures inside.

Comparing scenes, it’s interesting to note the differences between Disneyland’s mural and the one being created at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Each mural offers a distinct charm and unique storytelling that enhances the overarching theme of the new attraction.
