Exciting times are ahead for visitors to Downtown Disney! The beloved Lego Store, famous for its rooftop fire-breathing Maleficent dragon and giant Lego sculptures, will undergo an exciting facelift. The remodel began on Monday, October 7, with Disneyland officials confirming that the store will continue to operate in phases, ensuring it reopens later this fall.

The rejuvenation of the Lego Store, an original tenant since the mall’s opening in 2001, coincides with significant construction around Downtown Disney. Not far from the Lego Store, the Parkside Market will introduce an innovative food hall, complemented by new retail spaces such as Avengers Reserve and D-Lander shops. Additionally, the Earl of Sandwich rooftop bar is set to become a popular spot.

Over the years, the Lego Store has been a beloved destination for fans of all ages. The upcoming changes mark the store’s first major renovation since 2012, when iconic Lego scenes featuring characters from “Toy Story,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Aladdin” were added. The remodel also introduced an upper level serving as a playroom, event space, and meeting room.

Adding to the buzz, plans have been set in motion to demolish the nearby Tortilla Jo’s. Expect foodie excitement as a new steakhouse and barbecue joint by Michelin-starred chef Joe Isidori replaces the popular restaurant.

We can’t wait to see the refreshed look of the Downtown Disney Lego Store and all the new additions that will make this area even more exciting for visitors. Share your thoughts in the comments, and don’t forget to share this news with your fellow Disney fans!
