In a shining display of community commitment, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California has recently donated over $1 million in grants to local nonprofits and school districts as part of their community workforce development initiative. This admirable initiative, launched back in 2017, focuses on bolstering workforce growth for jobseekers and students. Since its inception, Disney’s unwavering efforts have impacted over 10,000 lives with a total of $7.5 million donations.

But financial contributions aren’t the only magic in the air. Disney VoluntEARS continuously offer mentorship, training workshops, skills development, and more to local nonprofits. Earlier this month, these dedicated VoluntEARS also took part in the Canstruction Orange County event, generously providing over 8,000 cans of non-perishables to local communities.

This year, two notable organizations are set to receive significant portions of these grants. Caterina’s Club, which has been offering meals, housing, and job training to homeless and low-income families in Southern California for nearly two decades, plans to expand their Hospitality Program. This program aims to give high school students opportunities to explore careers in the hospitality and service industries. Love Anaheim, launched in 2016, links volunteers with service projects in the city and will use their grant to grow their Better Way Anaheim program, offering training and employment paths to those experiencing homelessness.

Ken Potrock, President of Disneyland Resort, emphasized the resort’s commitment to community and workforce development: “Following the approval of DisneylandForward, our expanding investment in the Anaheim community and dedication to workforce development remains a top priority for us. That’s why we are so proud to continue supporting schools and nonprofits that are empowering the next generation of leaders. The incredible work these organizations are doing to make a positive impact in our community is truly inspiring, and we are honored to support their efforts.”
