Disneyland Resort truly knows how to celebrate, and this month, they’re pulling out all the stops to honor Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month. From delightful culinary experiences to vibrant musical performances, Disneyland Resort is infused with the rich traditions and culture of Hispanic and Latin American communities.
Starting September 1, 2024, guests at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, can meet Luisa from Disney’s “Encanto.” Joining her sisters Mirabel and Isabela outside Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante in Frontierland, these encounters promise magical moments for fans of the beloved film. The dynamic Madrigal family adds a colorful layer to Disneyland’s already enchanting atmosphere.
As soon as visitors step into Disneyland Resort, they’re welcomed by a redesigned Emporium window on Main Street U.S.A. and greeted with the stunning Downtown Disney District mural titled “Love and Traditions.” This beautiful piece commemorates Día de los Muertos, celebrating the rich heritage and vibrancy of Hispanic and Latin American cultures.
A must-visit is Disney California Adventure Park, where Miguel from the animated favorite “Coco” brings “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco!” to life. Guests can enjoy the festive Dia de los Muertos event, complete with heartwarming music and captivating performances, until November 2, 2024.
Adding to the celebration is an array of delicious dishes inspired by Hispanic and Latin American flavors. From the tempting Torta Cubana at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante to the sweet and savory Guava and Cheese Mille-Feuille at Amorette’s Patisserie, the Disneyland Resort culinary teams have created a feast for the senses. Don’t miss the Latina-owned food truck Vchos, offering mouth-watering Salvadoran pupusas near the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage through October 15.
Be sure to catch the live musical performances on weekends at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage, showcasing a variety of talented acts that include DJs, a mariachi quartet, Pacifico Dance Company, and Son Habana.
