Exciting news is coming from Disneyland Park as the iconic Haunted Mansion expands its eerie charm! This past weekend, the metal framework for the highly anticipated Haunted Mansion Carriage House Shop has gone vertical, setting the stage for the new retail space themed around the Haunted Mansion. Positioned near the beloved mansion, this shop promises to add an immersive shopping experience for all ghoulish enthusiasts.
On September 14th, we took a stroll around the Haunted Mansion and noticed the impressive progress of the construction. The metal skeleton of the carriage house is now clearly visible, featuring the iconic gable roof with space for a window and flowerbox. The architectural design mirrors the released concept art, complete with mystical details like enchanting curtains and decor. Madame Leota herself is the imagined proprietor of this otherworldly boutique, adding another layer of storytelling to the Haunted Mansion lore.
From different angles at the site, it is evident that the structure is gradually taking form to match the artistic vision. Rounded framework hints at additional windows, and you can almost picture the warm magenta interior that will welcome guests. The proximity to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction site adds another interesting element to the area, making New Orleans Square a hub of activity.
The project has seen significant groundwork done, with the sidewalk near the mansion demolished in July and the original Haunted Mansion queue removed earlier in the year. As the structure rises, construction equipment and lifts are strategically positioned to bring this shop to life.
Further details on Madame Leota’s Carriage House Shop remain a tantalizing mystery, but the Disney community eagerly awaits its opening, expected within this year. Visitors can currently enjoy the Haunted Mansion via a virtual queue, as the attraction operates with its seasonal Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. Rumor has it that some familiar scenes may receive updates when the original ride returns in January 2025.
