This week, Disneyland Resort transformed into a galaxy far, far away, hosting its magical event, “Blaze Your Path: A Star Wars Adventure.” This first-of-its-kind, multi-day experience brought together 19 wish children and their families, whisking them into the immersive world of Star Wars. The event was designed to grant the wishes of children fighting critical illnesses, creating unforgettable experiences centered around the beloved franchise.

From the moment these brave young adventurers arrived, they were invited to choose their path—light or dark—during an immersive breakfast. This was just the beginning of their epic journey. The children then engaged in hands-on activities, including building their own droids, engaging in scavenger hunts to assemble lightsabers, and even meeting iconic Star Wars characters. The day culminated with an exclusive dinner and dessert party at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park.

Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, shared his thoughts on this special event: “We’re humbled that so many children choose Disney to make their dreams come true. We’re constantly finding innovative and uniquely Disney ways to grant wishes at our parks and experiences around the world.” This sentiment reflects Disney’s ongoing commitment to crafting moments of magic for those who need it most.

Adding even more enchantment, Disney Consumer Products surprised families with Star Wars-themed backpacks brimming with accessories, LEGO® sets, Funko Pop! figures, pins, and an array of Star Wars books from Disney Publishing. These delightful surprises were designed to ensure the children’s wishes were met with an extra sprinkle of Disney magic.

Make-A-Wish America’s president and CEO, Leslie Motter, emphasized the impact of such events: “This event gives wish kids and their families a chance to feel like a normal family again—perhaps for the first time since the start of their medical journey. The stress, fear, and anxiety that come with their illness are the furthest things from their minds.”

Families will now extend their magical experience, enjoying the remainder of their stay at Disneyland Resort, including the theme parks and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Over its nearly 45-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, Disney has helped fulfill over 155,000 wishes globally, solidifying its position as the largest wish granter in the world.
