The Disneyland Resort was filled with both excitement and tragedy this past Sunday during the Halloween Half Marathon. Bobby Graves, a well-loved Disney TikTok creator, tragically passed away shortly after crossing the finish line amid an unprecedented heat wave scorching Southern California.
At approximately 7 a.m., Graves, 35, known affectionately by his middle name Caleb, was seen clutching his chest as he completed the race. An alert volunteer managed to catch him before he collapsed, according to reports from the Los Angeles Times. Anaheim police later confirmed this heartbreaking incident.
Just a day before the event, Graves shared a TikTok video discussing the struggles he faced with the extreme heat. He candidly spoke about experiencing heat exhaustion during a brief walk with his dog, expressing hopes he would manage to complete the race.
Graves was not new to the rigors of long-distance running. He had previously completed both the full and half marathons at Disney World this year and in 2023. His passion for running and the magic of Disney was well-known to his followers who drew inspiration from his content.
Jessica Good, spokesperson for the Disneyland Resort, expressed deep condolences, stating, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
