Disney has made an intriguing announcement about a historic attraction in California, sparking a wave of discussions among fans.
During Disney’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event held in August, the company revealed plans for two brand-new lands at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. These lands will be based on Pixar’s “Cars” and “Monsters Inc.” franchises. However, it’s not just the new lands that are causing a buzz. Changes are already afoot as Disney sets its sights on the legendary Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition at Disneyland Park, an opening-day attraction since July 17, 1955.
While the Florida version of this beloved shooting gallery recently closed, Disney has now filed a permit for significant upgrades to the Disneyland version. The permit details several electrical enhancements, including new LED lights and control cabinet replacements, ensuring this classic experience remains fresh and engaging for visitors. Twitter/X user ThemeParkIQ highlighted the renovations, noting the upgrades will breathe new life into the attraction.
Reactions have been largely positive, with fans expressing relief and excitement. Twitter/X user coasters_bgw quipped, “So that means it’s safe from the scourge on shooting arcades known as DVC, right?”
Disneyland’s shooting exposition is a cherished part of the park’s history and is one of the three remaining shooting arcades worldwide, alongside the versions in Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney.
