It has been an eventful and sizzling week at Disneyland Resort. While the park is adorned in lovely autumnal decorations, the summer heat persists with temperatures soaring into the 90s and 100s. With a bustling Labor Day weekend, there’s a plethora of updates to discuss, from Critter Country’s reopening to exciting transformations in Downtown Disney.

As we rolled through the Labor Day festivities, Disneyland shone under the Halloween spotlight. The park, dressed in its signature orange, black, and purple hues, remains a crowd magnet. Critter Country, or shall we say “Bayou Country,” reopened after months of closure for re-grading and repaving, along with construction work for the highly-anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Already, the Mark Twain Riverboat is calling it Bayou Country, marking the newest phase of Disneyland’s evolving landscape. With Tiana’s opening set for mid-November, guests can spot changes and new elements daily, making every visit unique.

Downtown Disney also saw notable developments. A wave of new shops is on the horizon, such as the Avengers Reserve and D-Lander Shop, ready to welcome guests with open doors. The beloved Earl of Sandwich is also getting a permanent spot with Carnaby Tavern, a themed table-service restaurant, taking over the second floor. Moreover, the new Parkside Market quick-service food court promises diverse culinary delights for all tastes.

Disney California Adventure is not to be left behind. “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco!” — a re-imagined show celebrating the bonds of family with vibrant performances and delightful narratives, premiered this week. And although the show has undergone changes, it remains a staple of DCA’s Halloween experience, capturing the heart of “Coco” fans.

The Disneyland Resort is forever in flux, continually refreshing rides, shopping, and dining experiences. However, change often brings mixed feelings, as seen with the uncertain future of the Red Car Trolley. As Disney prepares to expand Avengers Campus, the trolley’s maintenance barn and route face potential redesigns. While nothing is set in stone, the Disneyland community hopes for a creative solution that preserves this charming piece of Disneyland Paris’ heritage.

What are your thoughts on the new attractions and updates? Are you thrilled about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure? How do you feel about the potential changes for the Red Car Trolley? Share your thoughts in the comments below — we’d love to hear from you!
