As any Disney aficionado knows, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is surrounded by a vibrant neighborhood teeming with local stores, eateries, and varied lodging options. Among these, many visitors might consider staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel, particularly enticing due to their proximity to the magic. One such option is the Castle Inn & Suites, a medieval-themed oasis just a short walk from Disneyland’s entrance.
On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of staying at the Castle Inn & Suites, categorized as a Moderate hotel in Disney’s Good Neighbor Hotel program. Boasting 199 rooms and suites, this charming inn offers a blend of convenience and comfort that may surprise guests used to the hustle and bustle of surrounding hotspots. Arriving late on a Friday evening, I was relieved to find ample parking – a rare luxury among Anaheim’s smaller properties.
My room, located on the 4th floor, featured two queen-sized beds ideal for a small family. The accommodations also included amenities such as a desk, entertainment center with storage, microwave, and a refrigerator. These thoughtful touches, coupled with the clean and well-maintained atmosphere and a few special housekeeping touches like towel swans, indicated a management that genuinely cares about their guests’ experience.
The layout of the room, which separated the shower and toilet from the sink, was particularly practical for families trying to get ready for a day of Disney adventure. The sink area came equipped with basic toiletries, while the shower housed dispensers for conditioning shampoo and body wash – small conveniences that can make a big difference.
Situated just a 15-minute walk from Disneyland’s gates, Castle Inn & Suites might not boast its own dining or shopping options, but its prime location means you’re never far from necessary amenities. With a Pizza Press next door and other conveniences like a 7-Eleven, Walgreens, CVS, and Starbucks nearby, all your needs are covered.
Experiencing Castle Inn & Suites was a delight, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. The inn offers good value, especially with the current rates catering to varying party sizes. Have you stayed at an off-property hotel you’d recommend? Let’s chat in the comments!
