Big news just dropped from Walt Disney World Resort! Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro unveiled an array of exciting updates for Magic Kingdom Park at the D23 Expo last weekend. The highlight? The debut of the “Disney Starlight” parade, the first nighttime parade at Walt Disney World in nearly a decade!

For longtime Disney fans, nighttime parades are a cherished part of the magic, dating back to the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade, which first wowed guests in 1972. The new Disney Starlight parade promises to continue this enchanting tradition, using cutting-edge technology to bring beloved characters to life in spectacular ways.

Leading the parade will be the Blue Fairy, with characters from popular Disney films like Frozen, Encanto, Peter Pan, and more. The parade is set to illuminate Magic Kingdom Park starting in 2025, following a route that winds from Frontierland through Liberty Square, past Cinderella Castle, and down Main Street, U.S.A.

But that’s not all—D’Amaro also teased a slew of other thrilling projects in the works, including two Cars-themed attractions in Frontierland and a Pirates of the Caribbean lounge set to open in 2025. Plus, get ready to explore a brand-new Villains Land “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” sure to captivate fans of Disney’s most notorious characters.

Disney Imagineers are already hard at work, transforming these dreams into reality. “Everything we’re going to share with you is in active development,” said D’Amaro. “Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving.”

We’re on the edge of our seats with excitement. What characters are you hoping to see in the new Disney Starlight parade? Share your thoughts in the comments below and join the conversation!
