The D23: Ultimate Disney Fan Event has once again outdone itself, with Disney revealing tantalizing details about new lands, attractions, and cruise ships during the Disney Experiences Showcase. Packed with updates that will thrill Disney fans worldwide, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared what’s in store for Disney enthusiasts over the next five years.
Starting with Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, visitors can anticipate the arrival of a Monsters, Inc. Land in Hollywood Studios and a Villains Land in Magic Kingdom. At Animal Kingdom, the park will welcome visitors to an 11-acre region themed around Tropical Americas, featuring an Indiana Jones attraction within an ancient Mayan temple and a water ride inspired by Encanto. Cars fans will also be delighted with an expansion of Frontierland themed around their favorite high-octane characters. The new attractions don’t stop there; EPCOT will see the opening of the Reimagined Test Track and brand new lounge spaces will debut in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT in 2025.
Over at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, big changes are underway. Avengers Campus is set to double in size with two new attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Fans of Avatar will look forward to an immersive experience inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water at Disney California Adventure, which will take guests on a boat journey through the seas of Pandora. Coco enthusiasts will rejoice with the announcement of the first Coco ride, a boat adventure that will bring the Land of the Dead to life. Additionally, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in November 2024, and the 70th-anniversary celebrations of Disneyland will kick off in 2025.
Disney’s international parks are also getting some exciting updates. Disneyland Paris will rebrand its second park as Disney Adventure World, set to feature a Lion King area with dining, shopping, and a Simba-centric water attraction. Shanghai Disneyland will introduce a high-speed Spider-Man coaster, while Hong Kong Disneyland will unveil its own Spider-Man-themed attraction. New nighttime spectaculars will debut across Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Adventure Bay.
For those who love to set sail, Disney Cruise Line isn’t left out of the expansion plans. Four new ships will join their fleet by 2031, bringing the total to 13. Disney Treasure will feature a Broadway-style show, Disney The Tale of Moana, later this year, while the Disney Destiny will set sail with Disney Hercules in 2025.
