This weekend’s D23 event, also known as The Ultimate Fan Event, brought forth some electrifying news from Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro. Touted as one of the most anticipated panels, it featured announcements ranging from new attractions to incredible expansions across Disney’s global theme parks, cruises, and beyond!
In Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, exciting developments are underway despite no direct updates on the Disneyland Forward project. The Main Street Opera House will introduce “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” in 2025, featuring an audio-animatronic of Walt Disney himself. Concurrently, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will debut on November 15, transforming Critter Country into Bayou Country. Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is set to double in size with two new attractions: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, both featuring Tony Stark. Pixar’s Coco will also inspire a new boat ride attraction, and a yet-to-be-detailed Avatar experience promises more magic in the future.
Over at Walt Disney World Resort, there are jaw-dropping plans for each Florida park. Magic Kingdom enthusiasts can look forward to a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern and a Cars expansion in Frontierland, along with the first-ever Disney Villains land beyond Big Thunder Mountain. Hollywood Studios will introduce a Monsters, Inc. land with Disney’s inaugural suspended coaster. Epcot sees a refurb of Test Track and a new Spaceship Earth-inspired lounge by 2025. Animal Kingdom is transforming DINOLAND U.S.A. into Tropical Americas, complete with an Indiana Jones temple adventure and an Encanto-themed ride.
Beyond the U.S., Disneyland Paris will premiere a new fireworks show come January 2025 and rename their second park to Disney Adventure World by 2026, introducing The Lion King and Frozen-themed lands. Shanghai Disneyland preps for a Spider-Man rollercoaster, while Hong Kong Disneyland’s Stark Expo expands with a fresh Spider-Man attraction. Tokyo Disneyland will delight visitors with the “Reach for the Stars” nighttime spectacular this September, and Disney Cruise Line promises four new ships and enchanting Broadway-style shows such as “Disney Hercules” aboard the Disney Destiny.
