Big news on the high seas, Disney fans! Disney Cruise Line is charting an exhilarating course for the future with a dramatic expansion unveiled at the D23: The Ultimate Fan Event Presented by Visa®. Adding an astonishing four new vessels to its already illustrious fleet, this move promises to redefine the magic of Disney experiences at sea.

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, made waves at the event by declaring that Disney Cruise Line will incorporate four additional ships between 2027 and 2031. This brings the grand total to an impressive fleet of 13 ships! With five splendid ships currently enchanting families and four more already in the pipeline, Disney’s commitment to maritime magic is unmatched.

“Every corner of the globe should get a taste of the Disney Cruise Line experience,” D’Amaro emphasized. Each new ship will carry forward Disney’s legacy of providing unparalleled family-friendly adventures, although the names, designs, and itineraries are still under wraps. According to Thomas Mazloum, Disney’s president of New Experiences Portfolio, this expansion exemplifies the innovative spirit and storytelling prowess that define Disney’s world-renowned experiences.

The investment in new vessels follows a series of monumental announcements for Disney Cruise Line. In July, Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC) revealed plans for year-round Disney cruise vacations in Japan by early 2029. June saw the launch of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas, a breathtaking new destination for Disney cruisers. Plus, one might recall the recent buzz about the Disney Destiny, which will set sail in November 2025, featuring the dazzling new Broadway-style stage show, “Disney Hercules.”

And if that’s not enough, fans were given a sneak peek at the new stage production “Disney The Tale of Moana,” set to debut on the Disney Treasure later this year. This captivating show will bring Moana’s heroic journey to life, highlighted by the dramatic inclusion of Te Kā, rendered as the largest puppet ever made for a Disney Cruise Line show—a towering, 15-foot spectacle.
