Big News for Disney Fans: “Avatar” Land is Coming to Disneyland!
Attention, Disney enthusiasts and Avatar aficionados! Disneyland has just unveiled thrilling plans for a new themed land based on the blockbuster movie “Avatar: The Way of Water.” The announcement was made during the D23 fan event at the Honda Center in Anaheim by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro. This brand-new Avatar-themed land will be constructed at Disney California Adventure and is currently in “active development.” While an opening date hasn’t been specified yet, fans are excited about what’s to come.
The concept art teases a mesmerizing world with floating mountains, geysers, and lush alien flora, where guests can embark on a boat ride to explore the breathtaking aquatic landscapes of Pandora. This immersive experience aims to transport visitors straight into the enchanting world of “Avatar: The Way of Water.”
But that’s not all! D’Amaro also announced a new ride inspired by “Coco,” set to open in 2026. The “Coco” ride will weave music deeply into its narrative, reminiscent of the beloved Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. This new ride is sure to resonate with fans of the animated film and those who cherish Disney’s musical storytelling.
In addition to these attractions, Disneyland will soon debut a show celebrating Walt Disney himself. “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” will feature an audio-animatronic Walt Disney and will be showcased at the Disneyland Opera House, alternating with the classic “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.”
These spectacular developments underscore Disneyland’s commitment to constant innovation and delivering magical new experiences to guests. What are your thoughts on the new Avatar land and other exciting additions? Share your thoughts in the comments below and let’s keep the Disney magic alive!
