Disney fans, get ready for some changes this fall! The Walt Disney Company has just announced a hike in the streaming costs for all stand-alone tiers of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ in the United States. These new prices are set to take effect on October 17 and will apply to both ad-supported and ad-free plans.

If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, brace yourself: the version with ads will increase by $2 per month to $9.99, while the ad-free version will jump to $15.99 with the same $2 upcharge. Hulu isn’t far behind, as its ad-supported tier will also rise by $2 to $9.99, and the ad-free version is set to cost you $18.99. ESPN+ will see a smaller increase of $1, bringing its monthly cost to $11.99.

Bundled subscribers don’t get off scot-free, either. The Disney Bundle Duo Basic, which includes ads for Disney+ and Hulu, will also see a price bump of $1, although the premium, ad-free version remains steady at $19.99 per month. If you’re into Hulu + Live TV, expect to shell out $82.99 a month for the ad-supported plan, up from $76.99. The ad-free version will jump to $95.99 from the current $89.99.

But it’s not all about rising costs! Disney also announced that all Disney+ subscribers will soon have access to ABC News Live, a 24/7 streaming news channel offering live newscasts, breaking news, live events, and in-depth special reports just in time for this year’s election season. Come September 4, preschool-aged children will get a dedicated playlist, and later in the fall, you can enjoy four additional themed playlists: “Seasonal Content,” “Epic Stories,” “Throwbacks,” and “Real Life.”

“With this growing offering, and new ways to enjoy your favorite Disney+ content, Disney subscription plans remain among the best values in streaming today,” the company assured its users. This move comes on the heels of earlier price increases for Disney+ in 2022 and 2023, as well as recent efforts to crack down on password sharing following Netflix’s lead.
