Disney fans, some big updates are coming to your screens this fall! The Walt Disney Company is set to raise prices for all stand-alone tiers on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ in the U.S., along with most of its streaming bundles, starting October 17. But don’t worry, the new Disney+/ Hulu/ Max streaming bundle introduced in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as the Disney+ and Hulu no-ads bundle, won’t be affected by these changes.
Here’s the breakdown of the new prices:
Aside from the price hikes, there’s some enchanting news for Disney+ subscribers. The streaming platform is adding new features, including access to the ABC News Live streaming channel and a playlist of preschool content. Young ones can enjoy beloved series such as “Sofia the First,” “The Lion Guard,” “Puppy Dog Pals,” and “Minnie’s Bow-Toons.”
For premium subscribers, Disney+ is curating four additional playlists to be refreshed monthly, featuring:
– Seasonal content – a collection of holiday-themed shows and movies.
– Epic Stories – action-packed adventures from Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars.
– Throwbacks – nostalgic gems from pop culture past.
– Real Life – traditional documentaries, biopics, and real-life stories.
“Playlists are the latest example of how we’re providing the best value and experience for our subscribers every time they open Disney+,” said Alisa Bowen, president of Disney+. “Whether it’s news, kids’ content, popular genres, hit TV shows, or blockbuster films, there will be something for everyone.”
These changes follow a pattern as Disney previously hiked rates for ad-free tiers of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ last October.
