Disney Junior is set to dazzle young audiences with an enchanting new series, “Kindergarten: The Musical,” starring the multi-talented Gina Torres as the charismatic kindergarten teacher, Ms. Moreno. The series, which combines fantastical Broadway-style song and dance numbers, aims to help kids navigate the exciting and sometimes challenging world of starting school.

In the newly released trailer, viewers are introduced to 5-year-old Berti, voiced by Andrea Rosa Guzman, and her friends Rose (Leah Newman) and Radish (Zander Chin). These young stars bring the enchanting halls of Porter Elementary to life under the guidance of Ms. Moreno. Through vibrant melodies and energetic choreography, the series seeks to explore themes such as self-expression, forging friendships, confidence in social settings, teamwork, imaginative play, and the transformative power of music.

Expect each episode to be a musical delight, thanks to the creative genius of songwriters Michelle Lewis, Kay Hanley, Dan Petty, and Charlton Pettus. With six original musical numbers per episode, ranging across different styles, young audiences are in for an auditory treat. This dynamic team, known for their work on Disney Junior’s “Doc McStuffins,” ensures that every episode is a feast for the ears.

Notably, the stellar voice cast extends beyond the main trio. Musician Aloe Blacc and Ana Isabelle portray Berti’s parents, while singer-songwriter Leona Lewis lends her voice to Hedgehog Holmes. The cast also features Vincent Rodriguez III as Radish’s dad, Shyam Balasubramanian as Tej, and additional voices from Tandi Fomukong (Abigail), Kailen Jude (Kenji), Randy Perrine (Jamil), and Alice Halsey (Kat and Ellie).

Mark your calendars! “Kindergarten: The Musical” premieres on September 3 at 8:00 a.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Junior and will be available the following day on Disney+.
