Disney Jr. has just unveiled an enchanting new series that’s bound to delight young viewers and their families alike! The latest addition, “Kindergarten: The Musical,” features the talented Gina Torres stepping into the role of Ms. Moreno, a spirited and imaginative kindergarten teacher at Porter Elementary. This vibrant series is packed with Broadway-style performances, turning everyday classroom moments into magical musical experiences.

Join 5-year-old Berti (voiced by Andrea Rosa Guzman) and her spirited friends Rose (Leah Newman) and Radish (Zander Chin) as they navigate their new world through the lens of songs and dances. Each episode is a journey into imagination, touching on essential themes like self-expression, friendship, confidence in social settings, teamwork, imaginative play, and the unifying power of music.

The show’s musical pedigree is top-notch, with contributions from seasoned songwriters Michelle Lewis, Kay Hanley, Dan Petty, and Charlton Pettus. Known for their previous work on Disney Jr.’s beloved “Doc McStuffins,” this talented team has crafted at least six original songs per episode, each bringing a fresh and engaging style to the table.

The star-studded cast also includes Aloe Blacc and Ana Isabelle, who lend their voices as Berti’s Papi and Mami, along with singer-songwriter Leona Lewis as Hedgehog Holmes, and Vincent Rodriguez III as Radish’s dad. Additional characters feature Shyam Balasubramanian as Tej, Tandi Fomukong as Abigail, Kailen Jude as Kenji, Randy Perrine as Jamil, and Alice Halsey as Kat and Ellie.

Mark your calendars! “Kindergarten: The Musical” premieres on September 3rd at 8:00 a.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Jr., with episodes available the following day on Disney+. It’s time to join the fun and let your children’s imaginations soar through song and dance!
