It’s a sunny day at Disneyland Resort, and while guests expect to be basking in the California sun on their way to exciting adventures, some were left with an unexpected experience. During a recent afternoon, the iconic Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure suddenly stopped, leaving dozens of guests stranded 120 feet in the air. The halted ride forced guests to walk along the tracks, exposed to the intense heat.
This shock comes on the heels of a major refurbishment by Walt Disney Imagineering in April. The re-imagining of the Incredicoaster, including retracting the famed loop of its predecessor, California Screamin’, aimed to bring a fresh twist to Pixar Pier. Despite these upgrades, the beloved coaster still faces operational hiccups. Back in June, a similar incident garnered attention when 20 riders were evacuated after being trapped for 30 minutes in searing conditions.
A video shared by TikTok user @themouseforless captured the latest episode. They recorded bewildered guests trying to shield themselves from the harsh sun as they awaited rescue for over an hour. “Imagine being stuck on the Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure for an hour or more in the hot sun! I would become a lobster! What if you had to use the restroom while you’re stuck on Incredicoaster? New fear unlocked!!!” they wrote, humorously reminding us of our worst theme park nightmares.
Eventually, Disneyland cast members came to the rescue, safely escorting guests down emergency exits. Even with the staff’s swift response, the incident has left many questioning the ride’s reliability. A few skeptical park-goers voiced their concerns, with comments like, “That’s why I don’t ride roller coasters,” reflecting a growing unease.
