Last week, the Downton Disney District at Disneyland Resort welcomed a delightful surprise—a fresh, temporary home for the cherished WonderGround Gallery. As keen Disney aficionados might recall, the original gallery location was commandeered by the Disney Dress Shop due to expansion work at Marceline’s Confectionary. This shuffle has now catapulted the WonderGround Gallery into the former California Sole outlet, which closed last month.
Upon entering this new artistic haven, guests are greeted by eye-catching artwork featuring the beloved Country Bears, setting an enchanting tone right from the entrance. Nestled between Napolini Pizzeria and Salt & Straw, the gallery boasts an impressive array of Disney-themed treasures. From stunning collectibles and mesmerizing artwork to practical housewares, there’s something to captivate every Disney fan’s heart.
One of the standout features of the gallery’s new location is its Artist Spotlights, currently shining brightly on talented creators Daniel Killen and Will Gay. Their unique, captivating works add a layer of charm and wonder that only passionate artists can provide. Guests are treated to an engaging visual narrative featuring diverse artistic styles, making every visit a new adventure.
Additionally, an artist station within the gallery offers visitors a delightful glimpse into the creative process. During our visit, we admired an adorable drawing of animated favorites Henry and Sammy, beautifully capturing the essence of Disney’s whimsical world.
For those anticipating more Disney magic, the resort continues to buzz with exciting developments. A new exhibit inside the Pixar Place Hotel celebrates the upcoming “Inside Out 2” with vibrant artwork and maquettes. Fans can also look forward to Anger from “Inside Out 2” making his Disneyland debut, a thrilling addition to Pixar Fest.
