Disney Unveils Exciting New Animated Series at Annecy Festival

Disney Branded Television (DBT) celebrated their 40th anniversary in a spectacular way at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival by announcing a slew of new animated series and specials that are sure to captivate audiences of all ages. President of DBT, Ayo Davis, expressed immense pride in their legacy. “Disney Branded Television is proud of our four-decade legacy of creating magical and visually stunning animation beloved by young audiences around the world,” she stated, highlighting a year of milestone celebrations and groundbreaking new projects.

Among the exciting new series announced, we have “Disney Jr.’s Ariel,” a charming take on the iconic character’s younger adventures, and “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Moon Girl’s Lab,” a short-form series that combines music, S.T.E.M., and superhero fun. The visually stunning series will be accompanied by original songs from GRAMMY Award-winner Raphael Saadiq, with its premiere set for June 28 on Disney Channel, YouTube, and Disney+.

For our youngest viewers, “SuperKitties: Sup-Purr Adventures” will bring back the feline superheroes from last year’s top preschool show. The new shorts, featuring the adorable Bitsy, Sparks, and Buddy, focus on teamwork and kindness and will debut on August 7 on Disney Junior and the following day on Disney+.

Returning favorites include the fifth season of “Big City Greens” and its new movie, “Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation,” which are now available on Disney+. For our Star Wars fans, the beloved “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” will also be back for more action-packed episodes on August 14 on Disney+ and Disney Junior.

Finally, we also got first looks at other highly anticipated projects like “Kindergarten: The Musical,” “StuGo,” a quirky new adventure series, and “The Doomies,” a spooky comedy about two friends facing the supernatural. With Broadway-style songs and high-energy narratives, Disney is certainly pulling out all the stops for young viewers.
