Ahoy, Disney fans! If you’ve been dreaming about swashbuckling adventures on the high seas, you might need to pause your plans. Disneyland Paris has temporarily closed its iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride, along with its accompanying gift shop, Coffre du Capitaine, and the much-loved Captain Jack’s Restaurant.
According to the Disneyland Paris official website, this closure is part of ongoing efforts to “exceed the expectations of our Guests,” and it’s scheduled to last from June 3 to June 21. Images circulating on social media, particularly from DLP Report, show the entire area surrounded by construction walls, making it clear that significant maintenance or upgrades are underway. Rest assured, though, that this isn’t a permanent goodbye for this beloved attraction.
Pirates of the Caribbean boasts a rich history and a dedicated fanbase, ever since it introduced the catchy “A Pirate’s Life for Me” tune and the memorable Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. Despite recent controversies involving Depp, the character remains a staple in the ride’s experience worldwide. Curiously, while the ride has gone through various updates over the years—most notably the revision of the infamous “We wants the redhead” scene—Tokyo Disneyland’s version remains untouched.
This timely refurbishment comes amidst significant transformations happening at Walt Disney Studios Park, which is set to be rebranded as Disney Adventure World. The revamped park will feature new lands and attractions, such as the World of Frozen and a Tangled-themed area, along with a new nighttime lake spectacular.
