Disney recently rolled out the red carpet for 77 celebrated Black influencers, inviting them to an exclusive two-day event on the legendary Disney Studio Lot in Burbank and at the magical Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. “The Power of Joy: Creator Summit Presented by Disney” was nothing short of enchanting, featuring sneak peeks of upcoming content, deep dives with Disney leaders, and opportunities to foster lasting connections within the influencer community.
Anastasia Ali, Disney’s Vice President of Enterprise Commercial Inclusion Strategy, emphasized the importance of this curated event, stating, “We know that Black creators are driving culture. They are the purveyors of pop culture, influencing consumers from around the globe.”
Participants were treated to an insider’s tour of Walt Disney Animation Studios and sprinkled with Disney magic throughout the event. Brandi Marie King, an influencer known for her engaging entertainment, travel, and lifestyle content, shared her excitement: “At 10 am, I found out I’m going to D23 (The Ultimate Disney Fan Event), and we still have the rest of the day. Two of my friends even won cruises!”
Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International and Commercial Inclusion Strategy Executive Sponsor, noted, “This is the first time we’ve done this type of event. But it’s not just an event—it’s the beginning of a relationship with some of the most important Black creators and influencers from around the country.”
The summit highlights Disney’s commitment to inclusion and underscores the significant role that Black influencers play in shaping cultural narratives. By bringing these creators into the heart of the Disney experience, the company aims to build genuine and lasting partnerships.
