A New Disney World Attraction Faces Uncertain Future
A young attraction at Walt Disney World Resort has suddenly closed its doors, and the chances of reopening seem bleak. Throughout Walt Disney World’s history, numerous beloved rides have been retired, each closure stirring both nostalgia and anticipation among fans.
One notable recent closure was Splash Mountain, which ended its run to make way for the eagerly awaited Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Inspired by “The Princess and the Frog,” this new ride promises guests a vibrant journey through New Orleans. Similarly, the iconic Great Movie Ride shuttered in 2017, replaced by the whimsical Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which invites visitors into the world of Mickey Mouse shorts.
The nostalgia train continues with EPCOT’s evolution—Maelstrom in the Norway Pavilion was transformed into Frozen Ever After, a hit among fans of the “Frozen” franchise. Also, Future World, now World Discovery, saw the replacement of Ellen’s Energy Adventure with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a fan favorite since its 2022 debut.
Amidst these changes comes an unsettling update from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Disney Movie Magic nighttime show has unexpectedly ceased, and its removal from Disney’s official site has left many fans worried. Prior to this, Wonderful World of Animation faced a brief hiatus, though it’s slated to return soon.
Meanwhile, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, also at Hollywood Studios, will roar back to life on July 27 after months of refurbishment. Disney enthusiasts are eagerly counting down the days until the thrilling attraction reopens.
