Fantasy Springs boasts some of the most extensive rockwork ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering, collaborating closely with Walt Disney Animation Studios. This collaborative effort ensured the perfect blend of shadows, textures, and depth, bringing to life scenes inspired by classic animated films. Zsolt Hormay, the Creative Executive, explains, “Our objective was to make these figures appear sculpted by water, emphasizing intricate facial details to enhance their storytelling impact.”
As you step into Fantasy Springs, you’ll be greeted by rock formations depicting iconic Disney tales. Among them are representations of “Peter Pan,” “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and others, each featuring hidden delights. Watch closely – you might catch a glimpse of Tinker Bell or find Rapunzel’s flowing hair adorned with flowers, as if sculpted by nature itself.
The magic continues with rockwork centered on “Pocahontas,” creating an illusion of her canoeing through a waterfall, while “Alice in Wonderland” displays Alice and the Caterpillar amidst whimsical, misty mushrooms. Each rock formation is a tribute to a tale, with “The Little Mermaid” featuring Ariel poised on a rock, and “Snow White” revealing the Magic Mirror behind a sparkling waterfall.
After the sun dips below the horizon, Fantasy Springs transforms into an even more enchanting landscape. Illuminated waters and special effects breathe life into the stories depicted on the rocks, casting a magical glow across the area.
